Instrumentation Signup Rules
- NMR: V500 up to 2 hours, V400 up to 30 minutes, 400-MR up to 30 minutes during 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Peptide Synthesizer: The peptide synthesizer is being transfered to the SIL
TOFMS
- SIL users are no longer allowed to use the TOF-MS without permission by SIL staff and without their own user account on the TOF PC. Typically only those users who need to use chromatographic columns are allowed to run their own samples.
- Please contact Nina at jruprecht@unr.edu if you would like to submit samples to be run without chromatography using the ESI, APPI or APCI source. Samples may not be analyzed on the day of submission (usually twice a week), so if you have time-sensitive samples please contact Nina before submitting your samples to plan timing.
- Submission forms can be found gate.io and in the submission box next to the TOF-MS. Please make sure to follow instructions depending on the source that will need to be used.
- The maximum concentration for the TOFMS is 1 microgram/ml. Please submit samples filtered and in GCMS septa vials.
Instructions: Instrument Reservation Site
- You must have have training on a specific instrument before signing up, don't ask one of your lab mates for training but a member of the SIL
- To reserve instrumentation time go to http://argenta2.rd.unr.edu/mrbs
- Log in using your netid and password
- the netid must be prefixed with unr\ for example unr\smspain

Mounting argenta2 as a drive on Windows computers
- Click on the Start icon
- Right click on Computer
- Select Map network drive...
- Type in \\argenta2.rd.unr.edu\data
- Make sure Reconnect at logon is checked
- Click ok
- username: nmrdata2
- password: sildata2
If the above does not work, open a command prompt and paste the following command in the window. To open a command prompt click the Window icon, in the lower left hand corner, and type command.
net use Z: \\argenta2.rd.unr.edu\data sildata2 /user:nmrdata2 /persistent:yes
if you already have the letter Z assigned to a drive change Z is some other letter in the line above
The above command line still might not work
- make sure to NOT run in an elevated prompt, if you do then the drive will not be added to Windows explorer even if it is mounted
- try instead net use Z: \\argenta2.rd.unr.edu\data /savecred /persistent:yes and use the nmrdata2 and sildata2 username and password when prompted
- if you're getting a weird credential, in Windows search for Credential Manager and delete all argenta2.rd.unr.edu credentials
